  • 56 grams unsalted butter (melted)
  • 106 grams light brown sugar
  • 113 ml buttermilk (room temperature)
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • For the Glaze: 125 grams confectioners' sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and lightly grease a doughnut pan.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla until well blended.
  4. Gradually combine the wet and dry mixtures using a rubber spatula; stir gently to avoid overmixing.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared doughnut pan until two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for about 11 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool briefly before glazing with a mixture of confectioners' sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt.
