  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup dry white cooking wine (or additional seafood stock)
  • 1 cup lump crab meat
  • 1 cup medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter with olive oil. Add onion, garlic, celery, and carrot; sauté until softened.
  2. Stir in flour to create a roux; cook for about 2-3 minutes until golden.
  3. Gradually add seafood stock while stirring to avoid lumps. Mix in heavy cream and wine (or extra stock).
  4. Add crab meat and shrimp; season with paprika, Old Bay seasoning, and cayenne if desired.
  5. Simmer gently for about 20 minutes until cooked through; adjust seasoning as needed.
  6. Serve hot in bowls garnished with parsley and paprika.
