Ingredients

Scale
  • 200 ml milk
  • 7 g instant yeast
  • 20 g honey
  • 400 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 40 g butter (for dough)
  • 25 g butter (for filling)
  • 5 g salt (for filling)
  • 8 g salt (for dough)
  • 450 g steak
  • 3 g cayenne powder
  • 3 g red bell pepper powder
  • 3 g onion powder
  • 2 g garlic powder
  • 1 g dried parsley
  • 80 g red onion
  • 75 g red bell pepper
  • grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing lukewarm milk, instant yeast, honey, flour, beaten egg, butter, and salt in a bowl. Knead for 10-12 minutes until smooth. Let rise covered for about an hour until doubled in size.
  2. Divide the risen dough into 16 pieces (about 40 grams each), shape into balls, and flatten slightly. Stack and roll two pieces together.
  3. Coat with semolina and let rise for another 30 minutes on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Preheat a heavy-bottomed skillet and bake rolls until golden brown.
  5. For the filling, heat butter and olive oil in a skillet. Cook seasoned steak until browned. Add sliced onions and bell peppers until softened; stir in grated cheese until melted.
  6. Assemble rolls with the beef filling; serve warm with dips like creamy yogurt-garlic sauce.
