  • 8 oz linguine or fettuccine noodles
  • 4 tsp fresh grated ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 4 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef (about 5 minutes). Add ginger and garlic during the last 2 minutes.
  2. Cook the noodles according to package instructions; drain.
  3. Remove excess fat from the skillet and add brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
  4. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry; add to the skillet and simmer until thickened (2-3 minutes).
  5. Toss cooked noodles into the skillet and mix well. Let sit for another few minutes to absorb flavors.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with sliced green onions.
