- Add beaten egg, salt, butter, and 2 cups of flour to the yeast mixture; mix until thick but smooth. Gradually add remaining flour until just combined.
- Dust a work surface with flour; knead gently and place dough in an oiled bowl. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled (1.5 – 2 hours).
- Heat oil in a Dutch oven to 370°F. Roll out dough into a rectangle (17×11 inches) and cut into squares.
