  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ripe bananas (mashed)
  • For Frosting: ½ cup unsalted butter, 2 cups confectioners' sugar, ½ teaspoon kosher salt, ¼ cup caramel topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, brown sugar, and vanilla until smooth. Add eggs one at a time.
  3. In another bowl, whisk flour and salt together. Gradually add to wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in mashed bananas.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow bars to cool completely before frosting with salted caramel buttercream.
